WINTER SKIN CARE ROUTINE TIPS

Locking down the “perfect” skin care routine can be a lengthy process—especially with the climate changes we experience in Ohio! That said, with these frequent changes in weather, small adjustments should be made to your routine depending on the season. Whether it’s introducing a new treatment, or stopping use of a specific product, we’ll share how to prepare your skin care routine for the colder months.

RECONSIDER YOUR SKIN CARE PRODUCTS

What are your favorite day-to-day products? In this dry season, should you continue taking all the same steps in your routine, or dial them back?

Whether you realize it or not, some skin care products are extremely drying, which may not be much of a concern in months that you sweat more often and experience breakouts. Maybe an acne-fighting face wash worked great for you in the summer, but now that the temperature has dropped, continuing to use it when your skin is less oily may not be the best idea. Make sure your cleansers are addressing your concerns while also hydrating your skin!

Other skin care products to pay attention to are toners and moisturizers. While toners provide amazing benefits, they can sometimes dry the skin. If a toner is part of your routine, make sure the product you’re using is alcohol-free! This way, the formula can still do its job without compromising your skin’s moisture. And speaking of moisture, there’s no “bad” choice when it comes to moisturizers, right? Wrong! Some moisturizers are extremely thin, and in the winter months, your skin will need something thicker that’s full of healing properties and nutrients.

Swapping skin care products can be a hassle, but we promise it’s worth the effort! Ignoring your skin’s condition when temperatures have dropped can cause serious, and even permanent, damage. If you need help choosing the right products, we’re here to give recommendations!

Skin Rejuvenation | Anders Dermatology

INTRODUCE YOURSELF TO SKIN REJUVENATION

What is skin rejuvenation, exactly—a day at the spa? It can be, but our practice has services that are designed to treat your skin from a clinical standpoint.

Occasionally, no matter your daily routine, your skin may need a refresh. Clinical facials are one of the many options that can help by hydrating and nourishing dry skin—which is exactly what it needs this time of year! Additionally, facials can help treat sun damage, address aging and eliminate blemishes. Each clinical facial is even customized to your specific needs and skin type.

Chemical peels are another skin rejuvenation treatment that can help you reveal a healthy, glowing appearance in this time of year that can dull your skin. By safely removing the outermost layers of the skin that are dry and damaged, new and healthy skin cells can begin to regenerate. The result of a chemical peel is smooth, clear skin and a more youthful appearance!

Scheduling a skin rejuvenation treatment every few weeks can help you maintain great skin health, and address some concerns that skin care products can’t. There’s plenty of options out there, so ask us which treatments can help you reach your goals!
